March or September: pick a date and work backward
New York gives you two shots a year. Missing one is not a vibe. It is six months of rent, panic, and a calendar you already knew about.
MBLEx people talk like Pearson is a vending machine. You pay, you sit, you get a printout. New York is a school-year exam. March. September. Paper. If your 1,000 hours land in April, you are not 'basically ready.' You are waiting for September whether that feels fair or not.
Work backward from the date, not forward from a mood. Count application windows, transcript lag, CPR cards that expire mid-cycle, and the week you will actually sit still with 140 questions. I have watched people treat the NYSED calendar like a rumor and then act shocked when the room was already full.
Backward plan (use the live NYSED dates, not this as a filing deadline)
Pick March or September and stop flirting with both
Keeping two dates 'open' and studying neither
Full-length paper once, then hunt weak categories
Rereading the same chapter you already like
Eastern items daily, law items weekly
Timed paper, sleep, logistics
New resources, new highlighters
ID, admission notice, route, no new content
Cramming meridians at 1 a.m.
Two boxes on a wall calendar. That is the whole testing year.

You need 70%. That is about 42 wrong, not a vibe.
